Understanding Sandals sales and promotions

Sandals regularly has many different sales and promotions, which can not only save you a bit of vacation cash but can also be a bit confusing until you take a closer look at the details.

One of their most popular promotions has been their Air Credit, and it’s also one of the most asked questions I get when talking with clients about a Sandals or Beaches vacation package.  It also causes the most confusion, so I wanted to take a moment to explain how the savings work.

Sandals wants guests to be able to take advantage of the air credit promotion, regardless of whether or not airfare is available to book yet, or if clients may have points or miles they are using for their airfare.  So what they’ve done is made certain the air credit is already reflected in the rate of the room when you book (along with other savings promotions that may be in effect).  That way EVERYONE is able to take full advantage of this savings, not just those that bundle airfare with their room.

The air credit usually varies by resort and sometimes even by room category (and some categories may not offer it at all or it may be blacked out during certain times of the year).   Here’s a handy link to the current breakdown of specials by resort

Let’s take a look at the screenshot below and break it down, first take note of the phrase in blue “Rates include the following promotion(s):

The room rate of $2751.60 is the total for the room with all the listed discounts already applied.  The current savings reflected in that rate already include the 55% off, the $605 Air Credit, the $275 bonus savings and the $35 online booking special (which by the way you DO get when booking with a Sandals Preferred Specialist!).  There’s also a $185 spa credit and a complimentary sunset catamaran cruise for 2 promotion included for this particular resort and room category (hey that’s a really great deal! 😃  )

So your total room rate of $2751.60 has the air credit and other discounts and promotions reflected in that rate. Some guests may think these credits are subtracted from the price they see, but that’s not the case….the credits and discounts are already included in that price.
