Today’s featured honeymoon couple, Robin & Kevin, were married last July here in Southern Maryland. However as many couples we work with, they postponed their honeymoon due to purchasing a new home. So when they called us in late December and wanted to start planning their dream trip, we couldn’t wait to get started (we actually met with them on New Years’ day to get the ball rolling!)
They decided on simply beautiful St. Lucia (one of our personal favorite islands) and Sandals Grande St. Lucian. The couple wanted an active and adventurous honeymoon, with luxury, romance and relaxation included…Sandals Grande St. Lucian was the perfect fit!
Leading up to their departure day, Robin had many questions about the trip and traveling abroad. Since this was their first trip out of the country (and first time on a plane!), we took them under our wing to make sure they were fully prepared. 🙂
Fast forward to the big day….honeymoon departure! They were beyond excited! However that excitement soon waned as they unfortunately missed the second leg of their flight and were temporarily stranded in Miami. We quickly got to work contacting our tour operator and the management team at Sandals Grande St. Lucian (they are the best!) to move their honeymoon dates and reaccommodate them on their new arrival two days later. They also made a dining plan and reservations for them, so that when they arrived all they had to do was kick back with a frosty beverage and relax! A great ticket agent at American Airlines (we don’t know her name but a big shout out to her) moved their flights and waived all penalties and change fees, and Monday morning they were off once again to sunny St. Lucia.
After the initial bumps in the road, Robin and Kevin had the time of their lives. “It was the best vacation we’ve ever had” the couple told us. “We did a boat tour through Exodus to snorkel, see the pitons, mud bath, and waterfall. It was excellent, we also did horseback riding which was amazing. We hiked up to Fort McHenry on Sunday and it was amazing, I enjoyed the views. The beaches were beautiful!!”
Despite their rocky start, the couple had the honeymoon of a lifetime!
When they returned, we asked Robin what advice she would give to other couples planning their honeymoon. “Working with a reliable travel agent is very important, especially for first time travelers as she was able to help us while we were on our honeymoon. Tracy is very responsive and helpful, I had a lot of questions and she was able to answer them all very quickly. I appreciate all her help along the way. Thank you for making our honeymoon a success and unforgettable.”
It was our true pleasure to make this couple’s honeymoon dreams come true, we love what we do! And I think this picture says it all:
